I'm also very happy and proud for you!

It truly is quite an honor for Roberta to sit down and play the game, and to be looking forward to the rest too! Two paragraphs you say? I can't wait to read it! ;D

Thank you to Roberta and Ken for playing the game.

You inspired so many of us all those many years ago.

For these little things we hold you close to our hearts ...

Greensleeves over a IBM PC/PC Jr speaker
Batmobile out of Hagratha the Hag's cave
Every little bit in "To Heir is Human"
The Perils of Rosella ...

need I go on ... It all is still good ... And we still play it because the story is there...

All our heartfelt thanks for what you created all these many years past.

Blessings,

Animan, She who must be obeyed, and the children.

Well, if the Williams themselves approve of the game and like it then we fans can say TSL is the official KQ9. Congratulations to you good sirs/ladies.
Do you like retro games? If you do check my YouTube channel, you might like it! :)

That's such amazing news! ^_^ I can't wait to read what she had to say about it!  All of the tidbits you've been giving us have been fun, but this one may be the most exciting, to hear from the original KQ creator herself!
Finally a place where no one will ask me what my screenname means or how to pronounce it!

Very cool... I remember growing up thinking  'geez, I would like to make games like this some day.'

*laughs*  I even wrote some fanfiction (before I knew it was called that...) back in elementary school
days for school assignments... it mixed Space Quest II and King's Quest III... Roger Wilco found himself
in Llewdor and helped Gwydion escape all while dealing with Vohaul.  It was... pretty bad.  I found it again
recently, but I'm not sure exactly where it is.  Maybe I'll post it if I find it...  we can all laugh about it.   ;D

That's all very much beside the point.  I'm very happy that Ken and Roberta have given it a shot and
seem to like it - it has to be a pretty good feeling on your end, team.

There was an uh "short story" printed in one of the Sierra newsletters or InterAction, that was apparently designed by Sierra in a sweepstakes. A kind of fractured fairy tale. Basically they put a story together from various fan submissions. ...or the fans were supposed to use the various paragraphs to tell their own story, I don't remember witch.

Its fairly strange, basically it follows Rosella trying to find her golden football, she encounters various characters from all over the Sierra universe. Until she finds the one who stole her footbal, and returns to the castle.
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

I am stoked for this. I appreciate that she may have left creating games behind her, but I don't understand why people suddenly become so reclusive and dismissive of their past work. You Americans may be familiar with the British television sitcom 'Fawlty Towers' where one of the actresses only recently broke her silence about it at an anniversary celebration.

To know that Roberta Williams is into the games again is fantastic. I would happily follow anything she did, I thought she supposed to writing an historical novel? Jane Jenson may have a solid reputation, but I believe she only learnt from the best and that Roberta was the one who revolutionized the industry with the original game and then with each passing game after the third installment. I believe games like 'Tomb Raider' bet MoE to the 3D Adventure punch but even then it was Roberta who introduced the female heroine some years previously.

Great news, these may be the two most important paragraphs I will ever read.

This whole project really is something.  Who would have thought that someone would actually bring back kings quest. KQ6 was in, what, 1992? and now its 2010. I thought a million times "What would happen in the next kings quest?" when i played the old ones YEARS later, even after college. Juest the fact that people would actually DO it. Everyone thought about it, but it has been DONE.  And that fact that Roberta Williams actually sat down and played it? Wow.  That has to be the coolest moment in a creator's life.  From what I've read, she doesnt play games much, so taking the time to play a fan made kings quest is an incredible moment for her, seeing her work come back from fans, and for the TSL creators as well, seeing the original storyteller review this work almost 20 years after KQ6. Amazing something lasts that long in someone's head.  Major props to anyone who had anything to do with this game.  Absolutely groundbreaking to hear news like this. This is stuff I imagine won't be forgotten by Roberta or the creators anytime soon. Great moment.

And it would be cool to hear what she said, but I'm sure seeing her old work reimagined was probably surreal.
I've had a rough year, but this game really pumps me back up. Truly Epic. And I haven't even played it yet!
Good Work, TSL team, for spending 8 years on this and not giving up.

This is a wonderful honor everyone! I can only imagine how happy this must make you all!!!  Congrats to all!  Have some cake and pie! ;D
What thing is it without a name that brings my mind ere back the same to thee?

I don't remember exactly, I think Erpy might have said that Ken may have looked at one or both of AGDI's games or both KQ1 or 2, but not Roberta. Anyone know remember the details?

But more importantly, to have Roberta herself look at it, is rare honor indeed.

Asking for any sort of information on these forums from a TSL insider is only asking for  :suffer: .

But of course, I'm really happy to hear the news about the Williams. It's really phenomenal.
