Morningstar: Exploring Deadrock

by on Feb.10, 2015, under featured, Morningstar

Morningstar uses a first-person interface, meaning that the entire game is seen through the eyes of samples of viagra our protagonist Powell. More precisely, it’s seen through the visor of his suit’s helmet display system. As such, you never see what he looks like and you’re only able to tell that he’s male by the voice-over. Without it, Powell could be either gender. It would be hard to figure this out otherwise even if it was in a third-person viewpoint as the visor is darkened from the outside as shown in Captain Novak’s sprite sitting in the ship’s cockpit. Supreme League Of Patriots: Song of The Patriot

by on Jan.27, 2015, under featured, Supreme League of Patriots

Music, much like story and dialogue, helps to evoke emotion and immerse the player in the setting of a game and Supreme League of Patriots is no exception. Although the game tackles a fairly wide variety of themes, the mood is always kept silly and upbeat. This through Supreme League of Patriots’ colorful art-style and by means of a soundtrack heavy on funk, jazz and soul. The soundtrack was composed by Jake ‘Virt’ Kaufman, whose previous works include Shovel Knight, Contra 4 and the Ducktales Remaster. Anyone who appreciated the catchy themes in those titles will likely appreciate the wide range of music found in Supreme League of Patriots.Every character, big or small has his/her own theme, from Consuela’s exotic, Hispanic piece to Stan’s funky, 1970s inspired groove, each character is further complemented by Supreme League of Patriots' excellent sound design.Supreme League of Patriot's main anthem is probably the most striking of them all. A 1950's style energetic, heroic and occasionally goofy heroic song is the perfect vibe for the Purple Patriot. Not all songs are this energetic though. In contrast to such a heroic theme, we have the melody for our heroes’ apartment. A soothing, mellow funky theme. If your parents loved the musical styling of the 1970s you might want to show them Supreme League of Patriot's soundtrack, starting with the following song. With a soundtrack composed by an industry veteran, Supreme League of Patriots is possibly the only adventure game which allows players to explore a superhero-filled New York to the sound of funk. Couple that with the sound of the Purple Patriot getting constantly clobbered in the head and you have music to my ears.Supreme League of Patriots’ launches in just two days. Supreme League Of Patriots: Everyone Wants To Be A Hero

by on Jan.22, 2015, under featured, Supreme League of Patriots

Supreme League of Patriots fuses classic point-and-click gameplay with the satirical, subversive humor expected from shows like Family Guy or South Park. Players can expect the humor to range from witty and subtle to crude slapstick with the Purple Patriot being the most common target. Each character brings a specific type of humor with them. The Purple Patriot engages in physical comedy and creates the setup through his inane and often hypocritical ramblings, which is then promptly shutdown by everyone else. Mel is the Patriot’s most common foil, often calling out on Kyle’s hypocritical world views and ensuring he doesn’t get his way.Kyle isn’t the only aspiring superhero, throughout the game we meet someone simply known as the Flamboyant Superhero. Decked out in leather and with an affinity towards other men, this hero’s main past time is teasing good ol’ “Purple Pants” of overcompensating. He not only gets our Patriot’s panties in a bunch (literally), but is also quite capable of handling anyone who opposes him… except for goth nurses.Speaking of which, that leads us to nurse Julie. Technically she’s neither a hero nor a villain, just your regular goth nurse. However, she currently holds the record of most attempts to murder Kyle throughout all episodes. Originally, nurse Julie wanted to “put Kyle out of his misery”, that is, she realized she could exploit the Patriot’s insurance for all its worth. Now, she suddenly wants to keep him alive at any cost. Our first proper supervillain is the Cold War Warrior, an ex KGB agent who was also a stunt double in Rocky IV. He became too bored with Russia’s “peaceful regime” and decided to try his luck as an American Citizen. Originally, this supervillain hoped to use his ice-based powers to wreak havoc, but he found work a city hall clerk instead. That may not sound too bad, that is, until the Patriot needs to renew his driver’s license in episode 2.Finally we have Stan, a retired superhero who now runs a superhero themed bar. Originally a superhero himself, this walking Stan Lee reference retired when he got a batarang to the knee. Now, his bar “True Believers” provides support for any heroes or villains that need it. In order to get said help though, you may need to prove you’re not with the police. You can meet more of Supreme League of Patriots’ characters on January 29th. Pre-order from the Phoenix Online Store for a 10% discount and a free Steam key when the game launches.Gonçalo GonçalvesSocial Media AssociatePhoenix Online StudiosPrevious Supreme League of Patriots Entries:Introducing The PatriotsThe Voice Of Reason
