Coming in 2011: the official The Silver Lining Calendar!

To help celebrate TSL all year round, we’re putting together a 12-month calendar for 2011, with screenshots, concept art and sketch art from The Silver Lining! Some of it you’ve seen before, but much of it will be brand new, including a few custom pieces made just for this calendar. And since TSL wouldn’t be here without our great fans, we knew we couldn’t celebrate TSL in 2011 without involving them, too!

We want YOUR submissions to fill up two of the twelve months in our upcoming calendar! We’ve reserved March and July for fan-created art, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with. Here are the guidelines!

While the calendars will not be available for sale, we will be featuring them as prizes for other contests in the near future. Pictures used in the calendar will become the property of Phoenix Online Studios.

Please ask questions in here in our forum or email contests@postudios.com. We can’t wait to see what you come up, and for a little inspiration, here’s a sample of a piece that will be appearing in the calendar for the month of January!

You may recall our Facebook Halloween Costume Contest announced not long ago–we’ve decided to expand on the eligible photos!

You can now submit photos from when any KQ costumes you may have worn in years past! We’d love to see what the “Little Questers” looked like in days of yore–let’s face it, we were all a little cuter back then anyways! The same submission rules apply–become a Fan on Facebook and upload your photos there for voting on later.

You asked for it, now here it is! Announcing our Facebook Costume Contest!

It’s Halloween season, and we want to see your best costumes of characters from The Silver Lining! If yours is voted Best Costume, you’ll win an early download of Episode 3!

The rules!

1. ‘Like’ our Facebook page and become an official FB fan!
2. Put together a great costume of any character in The Silver Lining or the King’s Quest games!
3. Take a photo of yourself in the costume!
4. Upload it to our Facebook page and tag/caption it with either your real name and/or your forum name!

Submissions can be made between now and November 1st, after which we’ll select a few finalists and the final winner(s) will be decided on by a fan vote! Which leads us to step 5:

Nice work to all of you on finding the Suffer despite its nefarious hiding job! Good work to all those who entered but did not make the cut-off, as well. And as always, thank you to our fans for their enthusiasm, despite everything we make you Suffer! through!

With new episodes come new contests, and new prizes! Phoenix Online is glad to announce two exciting new contests for Episode 2!

First up: Whistle While You Quest!

Some players may have already noticed that when Graham talks to himself nowadays, he whistles! And maybe, just maybe, you recognized some of those tunes?

Whistle While You Quest is a challenge to our fans to name that tune! If you can name all the songs that Graham whistles, you’ll be among the first to get early access to the gorgeous soundtracks of Episodes 1 and 2!

You don’t need to know the full name of each song–just what/where it comes from.

Submit your entries to contests@postudios.com. The first 10 people to get all of the songs correct win! The songs can be listed in any order, so long as they are all present. Good luck!

Second up: Got Suffer?

As our forum-goers know and know well, our favorite smiley around is the one who laughs because he knows something you don’t, also called the Suffer!

Not satisfied with tormenting TSL fans everywhere, this guy’s snuck his way into the game itself! He’s hiding out there someplace, and if you can find him, we’ve got a great surprise gift for you!

The first 10 people to submit a save file from their game with the Suffer item in their inventory to contests@postudios.com will win! Here’s how to do that:

* Save your game as “GotSuffer”
* The file will appear in your save folder. This will be in the same directory where you installed TSL, under game/saves. There will be two different files with this name, and we will need you to attach both of them to your email.

Now we aren’t announcing the prize just yet….but it is something we’ll need a physical mailing address for*! You will not need to include you mailing address in your submission; we will contact the winners to get this information later. For now, however, you’ll just have to and wait until we tell you what it is!
