It's really good, but isn't 'Taking Candy away from a baby' laying it kinda thick?

I wouldn't say "thick" for that statement.  Honestly, that phrase sounds a little childish and weak...as if something better couldn't be devised.  Plus, the analogy doesn't really fit the situation.  Taking candy from a baby is generally used to denote the ease of doing something...and candy to a baby is more like an indulgence, not a necessity or great desire.

The basis behind the statement is evident, but the delivery...not so good.

I suppose you're right, looking back at it. Btw, I was just showing the flash because I did want you to tell me what you thought first. I didn't just unleash this. I'm taking all your comments down, taking down all the mistakes (I must admit the KQXI was pretty dumb) and taking in the suggestions.

Well I like it, good work Broomie :)

It's hysterical. Sorry, I had to.  8) Now, as I said this isn't exactly a huge thing at all, it's just a small little information page for others to observe on what they can do to help support KQIX. It wasn't intended to have a NBT effect. Just abit of fun n' luvin. That's all.

Edit: Removed loads of stuff which I didn't feel was appropriate to contribute to this thread.

Hear, hear! Nice to see people putting an effort up, and trying to do something about the situation. At least now everybody can sign the petition and there are some nice banners and buttons to spread the word (now if only I had a website to put them on;D) I think it's great Broomie, little things like these are very important to spread the word.

I'd like to see your opinions about this ;)
That was hinted at in my mail. 8)

Quote from: koko_99_2001 on October 11, 2005, 04:50:07 AMEDIT: Oh, yeah, it was suggested by someone in an email that people write in their locations. If you haven't sent a petition yet, you might just give your city and state at the bottom of the petition.
You mean: Flanders, Europe? ;D Or maybe: Westerlo, Belgium? 8)

Actual sending, yes. But writing, and editing, and pruning to make it look at least a bit professional takes a helluva lot more time! But, I do that all with a smile because I <3 KQIX.

I was talking to skeptics.  People that believe in the cause would definately take time in letters and should too.  But some people think it's a waste of time, but still like kq9, so you have to reason with them and say "if it is a waste, is wasting 5 minutes really all that terrible?"  We all waste time every day.

Did they answer and when did you write it?

I wrote it immediately before I posted it, and no, so far they haven't replied, although I haven't checked. It was the best I could do at the moment. I hope its effective.

Wow, from the look of things VU is getting the picture. Umm... I just wanted to point out that today is October 11, 2005 and that is the date that Amazon said was the release of the Compilations. Has anyone seen anything? I surly haven't. Its kinda bugging me, there is still no mention of it on VUG's website. Very odd...

awesomeasapossum

They still have no coverart. I just posted a review (even though I haven't bought it but do own all KQ games except MoE) telling buyers to check www.tsl-game.com before buying this. I said it about 4 times. So you may want to do the same...

Nice job VU...you know...because gamers really take you seriously when you put compilations out for sale without any actual info, pictures, specs, details, credibility, publicity, etc...  No, no...I'm suuuure you're actually going to release the compilation.  As a matter of fact, I'm sure the boxes are on their way in a FedEx van being shipped to Best Buy and EB Games as we speak.  Of course this isn't a lame attempt to cover your meager attempt to squash fan-made games...you truly do want to share the wealth of Sierra classics with the rest of us.

Although, this is VU we're talking about here...their potential may actually be limited to making a compilation of 2-decade old games that are compatible with a 2005 Windows system (something 12 year olds have been figuring out how to do on their own accord since the end of adventure gaming).

Actually, you can play 1-7 on a windows 95. With 1-4 you just automatically switch to DOS and have to restart if you quit.

Windows 95 is hardly a "2005" system. :P
